For many companies it makes a lot of sense to have access to a permanent legal sparring partner, but external lawyers can have very high hourly rates, and there isn’t a need to hire a full-time lawyer.
JMB Legal Services therefore offers subscription-based legal counsel with a free kickoff meeting where we go through the company and discuss relevant legal challenges and opportunities.
No long lock-in periods. Mutual right of cancellation with one month’s notice to the end of a month.
Legal Access
For smaller companies that want a permanent legal contact they can easily reach out to in everyday matters.
- Up to 2 hours of legal counsel per month
- Typical use: advice by email and phone, corporate matters, shorter contract reviews
- Unused hours can be carried over to the next month, max 2 hours
Business Counsel
For companies with an ongoing legal need.
- Up to 7 hours per month
- Typical use: ongoing advice, strategic legal counsel, corporate matters, legal templates, contract drafting and review, negotiation, compliance and disputes
- Unused hours can be carried over to the next month, max 4 hours
Fractional General Counsel
For companies that genuinely need a legal function, but not a full-time in-house lawyer.
- Up to 18 hours per month
- Typical use: ongoing advice, strategic legal counsel, corporate matters, legal templates, contract drafting and review, negotiation, compliance, disputes, legal processes and management of legal projects and work streams
- Unused hours can be carried over to the next month, max 6 hours
Frequently asked questions
I have deposited my Danish bar admission, which means I may not use the title of attorney and I cannot appear in court. I can still handle “lawyer tasks” within my areas of expertise, such as contract negotiations, and my legal skills and competencies remain the same. Compared to traditional external lawyers, I work more like an in-house counsel – close to the business and with a broader focus than purely legal matters.

Both. A hybrid model often works well: on-site during onboarding and negotiations. Day-to-day operations can usually be handled remotely, but I strive to be on-site on a regular basis whenever possible.
